A woman from Uzbekistan, under sanctions in the UAE for nearly 30 years, received assistance to clear a significant debt and return home.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, employees of the Uzbekistan Consulate General in the United Arab Emirates assisted a fellow citizen in eliminating a debt of nearly $250,000 and facilitated her return from Dubai to her homeland, reports a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.
После почти 30 лет санкций в ОАЭ Узбекистану удалось погасить значительный долг и вернуться на родину.

A citizen of Uzbekistan approached the Consulate General, having arrived in Dubai in 1996 for seasonal work. After falling victim to fraudsters, she found herself under legal sanctions and unable to leave the country. The woman also lost her job and means of subsistence.

Staff from the foreign affairs office in Dubai provided the compatriot with temporary housing, food, and other essentials, as well as offered her consular and legal assistance, facilitating her repatriation.

As a result of negotiations conducted by diplomats with law enforcement agencies in the United Arab Emirates, it was possible to cancel the woman's debt of 901,600 dirhams (approximately 247,000 dollars) and resolve other issues.

In February of this year, under the guidance of the Consulate General, the citizen was provided with a plane ticket from Dubai to Tashkent through the charitable organization "Center for Assistance to Women and Children," registered in the Emirates, allowing her to return to Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that recently, the staff of the Consulate General provided necessary assistance for the return of a citizen of Uzbekistan who sustained serious injuries after falling from the sixth floor of a hotel in Thailand.
