In Fergana, the nanny responsible for the injuries of a two-year-old girl has been charged with intentional infliction of bodily harm. This was reported by the office of the children's ombudsman.
On January 5 of this year, the woman was brought in as a suspect under Part 1 of Article 117 (Leaving in danger) and paragraphs "b" and "v" of Part 2 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Intentional serious bodily harm in connection with the performance of her official or civic duty with particular cruelty), and was detained in accordance with Article 221 of the Administrative Code.
The incident occurred after a local resident went to Russia for work in August 2024, leaving her two-year-old daughter in the care of the nanny. On November 15, the girl fell from the stairs, sustaining a concussion and other life-threatening injuries. However, the nanny did not seek medical assistance.
