The Fergana Polytechnic Institute and the Fergana branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies will merge to establish the Fergana State Technical University.
The Kokand Pedagogical Institute, the Kokand branch of the Tashkent State Technical University, and the Fergana branch of the Uzbek State Institute of Arts and Culture will unite to form the Kokand State University.
Additionally, the Fergana branch of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture will join the Fergana State University.
Starting from the 2025-2026 academic year, new qualification requirements and educational programs will be implemented in these institutions, developed based on the best international standards. Separate groups will also be organized for gifted students, with instruction offered in foreign languages.
The new Fergana State Technical University will establish a Higher School of Engineering, alongside creating subsidiaries with major industrial partners.
All students enrolled in the reorganized institutions will continue their studies at the new specialized educational establishments.
It is worth noting that the authorities of Uzbekistan have presented projects for the creation of technical universities in Nukus, Bukhara, Fergana, and Namangan. In total, there will be 22 such universities across the republic, established through the consolidation of 35 higher education institutions.
