Officials in the Khorezm and Fergana regions have been caught accepting bribes.
In the Khorezm and Fergana regions, chief specialists have been detained for bribery and fraud. In both cases, a criminal case has been initiated against the detainees.
The chief specialist of the transport department in Khorezm region, having gained the trust of an entrepreneur, transferred 960 square meters of land to his name with the help of acquaintances in the cadastral services. This land belonged to another citizen. He promised to arrange the documentation for the construction of a multi-story residential building in Urgench.
For his services, the specialist demanded 135 thousand US dollars, of which he received an advance of 80 thousand dollars. He was apprehended by law enforcement during the receipt of this sum along with tangible evidence.
A criminal case has been initiated against this individual under part 4 of article 168 and paragraph "a" of part 3 of article 211 of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
A specialist from the district department of inspection for supervision of the agro-industrial complex in the Yazyavan district of Fergana region was detained by law enforcement while receiving a bribe of 8,700 US dollars. He promised to increase the contractor's rating points in the "Shaffof Qurilish" system and ensure their participation in a tender by providing documents for non-existent construction equipment.
A criminal case has been initiated against him under paragraph "b" of part 3 of article 168 and paragraph "a" of part 1 of article 211 of the Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
