Kazakhstan is set to revise the bankruptcy regulations for individuals.

Proposed amendments to the law on personal bankruptcy are currently under review in the Mazhilis, with plans for implementation in the first half of 2025, according to Bizmedia.kz.

According to the Committee of State Revenues, the amendments include a proposal to exclude the requirement for debt settlement from credit agreements made before January 1, 2025.

Additionally, clarifications have been made regarding the powers of the financial manager during judicial bankruptcy proceedings and the restoration of solvency.

The amendments are expected to be implemented in the first half of 2025.
