Kazakhstan is testing a mobile system designed to combat avalanches.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan has provided information about the testing of the mobile avalanche control system, DaisyBell, according to Bizmedia.kz.
В Казахстане проходит испытание мобильной системы для предотвращения лавин.

The DaisyBell system was showcased to the Minister of Emergency Situations, Chingis Arinov, during his visit to the Almaty branch of "Kazselzashchita." This technology is already successfully utilized in Russia and several European countries.

“The device consists of a metal cone suspended by a cable from a helicopter. It operates by remotely detonating a nitrogen-hydrogen mixture inside the cone, which enables the controlled release of an avalanche and prevents potential serious consequences,” the agency explained.

In Kazakhstan, there are 619 avalanche-prone areas, 165 of which are located in Almaty. To prevent accidents, approximately 150 preventive avalanche releases are conducted annually.

In January and February, heightened avalanche danger is expected on the country's mountain slopes due to warm weather and heavy precipitation.
