The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, has signed a law prohibiting the import, sale, and use of electronic cigarettes containing nicotine liquid.
The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on October 23, 2024, with the aim of protecting the health and well-being of citizens from the consumption of electronic cigarettes with nicotine liquid.
The document bans the import, sale, and use of electronic cigarettes within the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The law will come into effect on July 1, 2025.
In April 2024, the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan presented a draft law proposing a ban on the import, production, and sale of electronic cigarettes and tobacco heating systems.
