Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport has revealed its plans for 2025.

The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan has revealed its plans for 2025, outlining the transportation and infrastructure projects set to be implemented that year, according to Bizmedia.kz.

Aviation Projects

Key infrastructure initiatives in the aviation sector have been launched in Kazakhstan. Following the President's directive, the construction of new airports in the tourist areas of Katon-Karagay, Zaisan, and Kendirli is scheduled to be completed by 2025.

Currently, land plots are being formalized and facilities are being designed.

Road Infrastructure

A large-scale modernization of the transport infrastructure is planned in the country by 2030, which includes the construction of 4,700 km of highways, with 3,700 km classified as category I roads.

Major projects will commence in 2025:

  • Kyzylorda — Zhezkazgan (208 km)
  • Aktobe — Ulgaisin (234 km)
  • Karaganda — Zhezkazgan (572 km)
  • Saryagash Bypass (102 km)
  • Kyzylorda Bypass (20 km)
  • Kyzylorda — Saksaulsk (470 km)
  • Atyrau — Dossor (86 km)
  • Rudny Bypass (16.9 km)
  • Zhanaozen — Kendirli (156 km)
  • Petropavlovsk Bypass (8 km)
  • Turkestan Bypass (29.6 km)
  • Astana — Kostanay — Russian Federation Border (830 km)
  • Shymkent Bypass (48 km)
  • Atyrau — Uralsk (medium repair, 516 km)
  • Atyrau — Chapay (136 km)
  • Almaty — Talgar — Baidibek bi (68 km)
  • Almaty — Ushkonyr (48 km)
  • Beineu — Saksaulsk (736 km)
  • Bridge over the Ural River (6.5 km)

The total investment in these projects exceeds 9 trillion tenge, and active work is underway to attract investors.

Railway and Water Transport

As part of the modernization of the railway network, the procurement of 225 new cars is planned by 2025.

The construction of roads for the following projects will be completed:

  • "Dostyk — Moyynty", which will increase throughput capacity by 5 times, ensuring uninterrupted movement of up to 60 pairs of trains.
  • "Almaty Bypass", aimed at enhancing the efficiency of freight transport.

Additionally, traffic will be opened on the following sections:

  • "Dostyk – Besqol"
  • "Moyynty – Balkhash"

These projects are focused on improving freight and passenger transportation.

Maritime Transport and the Port of Aktau

The construction of a container hub has begun at the Port of Aktau, which will increase its capacity to 240,000 TEU per year. This will strengthen Kazakhstan's position in the international logistics arena and boost cargo volumes along the Trans-Caspian route through Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.

Dredging works are also planned at the port, which will enhance its efficiency for container shipments and increase terminal capacity.
