In Namangan, a student reported being assaulted by a teacher, but the school provided a different account of the incident.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, a high school student in Namangan has accused a teacher of assault, claiming that he lost several teeth in the incident. However, the school has provided a different account of what transpired, as reported by a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.
В Намангане ученик сообщил о побоях от учителя, но в школе представили иную версию событий.

The incident occurred on January 28 near the gym of School No. 30.

The Student's Account

The teenager reported that he was taken to a separate room by three teachers, after which one of them began to beat him, while the other two did not intervene. The boy claims that after the beating, he felt unwell, but the teachers did not call for an ambulance. He ran out of the building and made his way to the neighborhood committee, allegedly being pursued by the teachers.

Meanwhile, the teenager's mother expressed her outrage at the incident:

"Why did the teachers decide to beat my son for his misbehavior instead of informing me right away? In 11 years of schooling, no one has mentioned that he had any disciplinary issues."

The School's Account

The regional Department of Preschool and School Education (DPSE) commented on the situation, referencing information received from the school.

According to this information, the high school student was observed hugging a 7th-grade girl around the neck. After that, he was taken to a classroom where, according to the teachers, he began to behave aggressively.

The physical education teacher accused of the beating stated that he did not harm the teenager and was surprised by his injuries. According to the DPSE, the student hit his face on the entrance door while attempting to use force against the teacher.

It is also reported that the teenager is under internal monitoring as a "difficult student." In the past, he had been held accountable for skipping classes, and his parents were fined for 27 absences in a quarter. Previously, National Guard officers had issued him warnings.

Furthermore, in March of last year, the student was involved in a fight on school grounds. For this, his parents were fined under Article 47 ("Failure to fulfill duties in the upbringing and education of children") of the Administrative Offenses Code.

Competent authorities are currently investigating the situation. The DPSE stated that they will look into all the circumstances of the conflict in order to take appropriate measures. The children's ombudsman has not yet commented on the situation.
