The NCOZ has dismissed rumors regarding a quarantine due to the metapneumovirus.

Rumors about a potential quarantine due to the metapneumovirus are rapidly spreading among Kazakhstanis, causing concern among the public. To alleviate these fears, Aizhan Esmagambetova, the head of the National Center for Public Health, has provided comments on the situation, as reported by Bizmedia.kz.
В НЦОЗ развеяли слухи о введении карантина из-за метапневмовируса.

Esmagambetova clarified that the epidemiological situation in the republic is currently stable.

She explained that January is a traditional period for an increase in illness rates during the season, but usually by mid-February a decrease in the number of cases is observed.

“At the moment, there are no grounds for introducing quarantine or restrictive measures,” she stated.

According to Esmagambetova, specialists monitor the epidemiological situation in the country almost daily, analyzing disease levels and tracking virus circulation.

It is worth noting that earlier, the Minister of Education, Gani Beisembaev, responded to a question about whether quarantine would be implemented in schools due to the situation. The National Center for Public Health denied rumors of quarantine due to metapneumovirus.
