During the "Safe and Healthy Capital" month, crime in Tashkent has decreased by nearly 50%.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, special units in the capital conducted operational raids from January 15 to February 15 as part of the "Safe and Healthy Capital" month. As a result of these activities, crime in Tashkent has decreased by 43%, reports a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

Additionally, cases of fraud have decreased by 72%, robberies by 47%, and thefts by 46.5%. These and other details of the monthly report were shared by the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Tashkent.

Specialized units from the Internal Affairs, State Security Service, Prosecutor's Office, and National Guard participated in operational and preventive raids in the capital.

During this period, law enforcement officials identified 801 instances of illegal drug trafficking, psychotropic substances, and potent medications. A total of 567 criminal cases have been initiated, 158 administrative protocols compiled, and preliminary investigations are ongoing for 76 incidents.

As a result, the illegal circulation of 21.8 kilograms of narcotic substances, 29 units of potent drugs, and 26 kilograms of the drug "Pregabalin" was halted.

Moreover, operatives uncovered 34 instances of dealers concealing prohibited substances and interrupted the distribution of 9.5 kilograms of drugs.

Law enforcement agents shut down online stores selling drugs and psychotropic medications, and eliminated 1,300 pieces of drug-related graffiti advertising. It was noted that over 500 individuals suffering from drug addiction were directed to medical facilities for treatment.

As a result of search and rescue operations conducted promptly, 488 crimes were solved, 160 wanted individuals were apprehended, and 45 missing persons were located.

For illegal possession of cold weapons, administrative protocols were filed against 2,200 citizens.

Additionally, the following items were seized: one combat vehicle (BM), 21 units of pneumatic weapons, 7 shotguns, and 14 cartridges. Criminal cases have been initiated for each incident, and investigations are underway.

There were 102,400 violations of traffic rules detected, including 9.8 serious offenses and 366 cases of driving under the influence.

It is reported that operational-search and preventive activities in the capital are ongoing.

As a reminder, earlier in the Surkhandarya region, a family of drug traffickers was caught importing prohibited substances from Tajikistan.
