In Samarkand, a driver was arrested for dragging a traffic officer on the hood of his car.

In Samarkand, a driver who failed to comply with a lawful request from a police inspector and engaged in actions that posed a danger to the inspector's life has been detained. This information was reported by the press service of the regional traffic safety management.

On January 31, on Buyuk Ipak Street, the traffic police inspector attempted to stop a vehicle, an Onix without license plates, using a baton and whistle. However, the driver ignored the request, created a threat to the safety of others, ran over the inspector, causing him bodily harm, and fled the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated under two articles of the Criminal Code:
🔹 Article 140, Part 3 – insult of the victim in connection with the performance of their official or civil duties (fine ranging from 150 to 225 million sums, corrective labor up to 3 years, or restriction of freedom up to 1 year).
🔹 Article 219 – resistance to a representative of authority or coercion to illegal actions (restriction of freedom or imprisonment from 3 to 5 years).

The driver has been detained in accordance with the procedural law, and a measure of restraint in the form of detention has been applied. An investigation is underway.
