On January 28, 2025, agents from the immigration and customs enforcement in the United States arrested 1,179 individuals in a single day. This marks the highest number of arrests of undocumented immigrants since Trump took office.
President Trump has directed the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the State Department to take action against those illegally entering the United States from the south.
The number of undocumented immigrants in the United States has risen from 3.7 million in 2021 to over 7 million in 2023. Nearly 1.5 million foreign nationals from various countries have been placed on the deportation list, although they have not yet been arrested, but a decision has already been made.
The largest group on the list is Mexicans, totaling 252,044 individuals. Following them are Guatemalans (253,413), Hondurans (261,651), and Salvadorans (203,822). A total of 37,908 citizens from China will be deported. Among Central Asian countries, 975 citizens from Uzbekistan, 369 from Kazakhstan, 319 from Kyrgyzstan, 149 from Tajikistan, and 40 from Turkmenistan are included in the list.
