A criminal case has been filed in court regarding the murder of a security guard at the "Mercury Towers" residential complex in Almaty.

The press service of the Almaty city court announced that a criminal case concerning two incidents involving the son of a former deputy, who allegedly drove multiple times in a security guard's car from the "Merkur Towers" residential complex and distributed pornography on social media, has been submitted to the court, according to Bizmedia.kz.

The press service of the Almaty city court reports that a criminal case has been filed against the son of a former deputy in the Specialized Inter-District Criminal Court for severe murder under Article 99, Part 5, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for the brutal killing of a security guard at the "Mercury Towers" residential complex, and under Article 147, Part 5 of the Criminal Code for disseminating information about a person's private life without their consent.

In the first incident, the defendant is accused of committing murder in March 2024. He ran over the security guard with his SUV and drove over him several times before jumping on his head. This was recorded on video cameras. The security guard was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The deceased left behind a wife and three children.

The investigation revealed that the security guard had not allowed an insane man to leave the courtyard of the residential complex at the request of his parents. Neighbors also reported that the defendant was a drug addict and instilled fear in the residents. They had repeatedly called the police due to his inappropriate behavior, but nothing was done.

In the second incident, the defendant is accused of distributing pornography concerning his acquaintance on social media.
