In Tashkent region, service dogs were honored for their assistance in solving crimes.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, three service dogs in Tashkent and the Tashkent region have been honored for their contributions to maintaining law and order and assisting in criminal investigations. The four-legged customs officers, Jack, Grafi, and Bagira, played a crucial role in locating weapons, drugs, and other illegal substances.

Jack and Graf are working at the customs of the Tashkent Regional Administration. The dog handlers, Khusan Choriyev and Ilyas Ikhbolov, who are collaborating with them, have also been honored with respective awards.

The administration reported that in 2024, dog handlers, with the assistance of service dogs, identified 104 violations. As a result, 38.8 kilograms of narcotics, 4,700 units of potent medications, as well as undeclared cash amounting to 134 million sums, over 4 million rubles, and 11,300 dollars were seized. Additionally, gunpowder, cartridges, a shotgun, and 4,200 units of pyrotechnics were confiscated.

A dog named Bagira works at the border customs post in the capital's airport. Last year, with her assistance, nearly one kilogram of hashish, marijuana, and 150 units of the psychotropic medication "Tramadol" were discovered in passengers' luggage.

It is worth noting that in April of last year, customs officers honoredably retired the veteran dog named Kora (Black). During her 10 years of service, she detected over 10 kilograms of drugs.
