Uzbekistan has developed a draft law focused on insuring agricultural risks.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. Drawing from the experiences of last winter, when severe frost affected thousands of hectares of agricultural land, Uzbekistan has prepared a draft law titled "On Agricultural Risk Insurance."

According to the press service of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the document was developed with the involvement of foreign experts and, as stated by the authorities, will provide economic protection for farmers by minimizing their losses in the event of natural disasters.

During a meeting focused on agricultural security issues, the president emphasized the need to establish effective support mechanisms for farmers.

According to government data, in 2023, nine thousand hectares of orchards and four thousand hectares of vineyards were affected by frost. As a result, 207 thousand tons of crops were destroyed.
