Uzbekistan will allow products to be labeled with the "Halal" symbol.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to Podrobno.uz, starting from May 1, 2025, products and services in Uzbekistan will be allowed to bear the "Halal" mark, provided they comply with the standards set by the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC).

The corresponding resolution from the Cabinet of Ministers aims to regulate the certification and assessment process for such goods.

As part of the initiative, certification bodies will be established, and the requirements for products and services will be based on international standards.

The Agency for Technical Regulation of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Committee for Religious Affairs, will conduct the accreditation of certification structures within six months, involving international organizations.

Additionally, there are plans to develop an official standard that defines the form and dimensions of the "Halal" sign.

The resolution will take effect three months after its official publication.
