On January 31, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved new customs duty rates, reports the Customs Committee.
The document was adopted to align the rates with the requirements of the World Trade Organization (WTO) for Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO. Now, the amount of customs duties for the clearance of goods is determined based on the estimated costs incurred by customs authorities.
The customs duty for processing outside of working hours has been significantly reduced from 2 basic calculation units (750,000 sums) to 25% of the basic calculation unit (93,750 sums).
Additionally, a 20% discount on the duty amount is provided for preliminary declarations.
