В Узбекистане вновь начнут поощрять граждан за выполнение 10 тысяч шагов в день.

Uzbekistan is reviving its program to encourage citizens to walk at least 10,000 steps a day. According to the draft decree of the President “On the State Program for the Implementation of the Strategy ‘Uzbekistan – 2030’ in the ‘Year of Environmental Protection and ‘Green’ Economy,” a special platform is set to be launched by June 1, 2025.

The program, developed by the Ministry of Ecology and the Ministry of Digital Technologies, will promote physical activity and grant the title of “eco-active citizen” to those who achieve significant results. Holders of this status will receive a 10% discount on government services and when applying for consumer loans in banks with more than 50% state ownership.

Families where all adults become “eco-active citizens” will be eligible for the “green family” status and can participate in an annual lottery where 14 electric vehicles will be raffled off. In neighborhoods where half of the residents attain this status, contests for “Cleanest Neighborhood” and “Greenest Neighborhood” will be organized. Winners will receive grants of 500 million sums for infrastructure development, including playgrounds, green zones, and waste containers.
