Starting in 2025, a new government program will be launched in Uzbekistan aimed at combating cervical and breast cancer, reports Nozim Davletov, head of the administration's department for the president.

School-aged girls will be vaccinated against the human papillomavirus (HPV). Every year, women aged 30, 40, and 50 will undergo free HPV screening, while women aged 45–65 will receive mammograms as part of the primary healthcare system.

Each woman will be added to an electronic registry. If any oncological changes are detected, she will be referred for treatment at the appropriate facility. Subsequently, women will be monitored until palliative care is provided.

Kazakhstan has successfully implemented an oncology insurance program. For instance, insurance packages can be purchased at bank branches, with costs varying based on the client's age. This insurance policy covers expenses for necessary examinations to detect diseases. Such a program has not been established in Uzbekistan.

Additionally, on October 5, 2023, the government of Kazakhstan approved a Comprehensive Plan to combat oncological diseases in the republic for the years 2023–2027.
