The UK and Uzbekistan have discussed collaboration in education and economic sectors.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Ravshan Usmanov, held a meeting with Philippa Saunders, the Deputy Director of the Department for Cooperation with China, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia at the UK’s Department for Business and Trade.

During the meeting, they discussed the current status and prospects for bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as collaboration in the field of education. London recognized Uzbekistan as a key partner in Central Asia and expressed its readiness to further deepen relations.

Particular attention was given to supporting Uzbekistan's efforts to join the WTO. As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to make the most of opportunities for developing cooperation.
