On February 1, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Akhror Burkhanov, commented on a controversial video in which, as claimed by the FSB of Russia, a resident of Ukraine, posing as a Russian, refers to Uzbeks as "dogs."
“Such offensive statements, regardless of who makes them, are deeply regrettable,” — noted Burkhanov.
He reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan promptly contacted the Russian side, which confirmed the initiation of an investigation.
“As a result, it became clear that the material was fabricated by destructive forces attempting to sow discord between our peoples. The mentioned individual is not a citizen of Russia,” — he added.
Burkhanov also urged citizens to approach information on the internet with caution, emphasizing that media narratives can sometimes misrepresent reality.
Earlier, we reported that the Public Relations Center of the FSB of Russia stated that the author of the provocative video, in which Uzbeks were called dogs, is a Ukrainian citizen, Nikolai Kochmarik, born in 1984. He acted under the direction of Lithuanian special services.
On January 19, the advisor to the Minister of Ecology of Uzbekistan and public figure Rasul Kusherbaev called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country to respond to the provocation.
