Journalist Alexey Pivovarov released an episode about Uzbekistan, during which his team was detained while filming.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to Podrobno.uz. Russian journalist and blogger Alexey Pivovarov has released a new episode focusing on Uzbekistan. In this installment, he and invited experts delve into various topics, including the history of the Jadids, forced labor, the "cotton case," the country's exit from the USSR, labor migration to Russia, and more.
Журналист Алексей Пивоваров выпустил материал об Узбекистане, но его команду задержали во время съемок.

Special attention in the issue is given to the protests in Karakalpakstan in July 2022. Pivovarov spoke about Dauletmurad Tajimuratov — one of the main defendants in this case.

The journalist also touched upon the incident in Nukus, where his film crew and Hook journalist Feride Mahsetova were detained during filming. According to him, he spent several hours at the police station, where he "calmly and amicably" interacted with law enforcement officials.

"The outcome of this conversation was that we were strongly advised not to film in the autonomous region without obtaining all the necessary accreditations,” Pivovarov noted.

It is worth reminding that the official reason for Alexey Pivovarov's detention during filming was working without accreditation in Uzbekistan.
