In response to the calls from Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, not to enroll migrant children who do not speak Russian in schools, Alisher Kadyrov stated that discrimination against children shapes their attitude towards the language.
“Such cruelty towards children will ultimately shape their attitude towards the Russian language,” — noted Kadyrov.
He also emphasized that “ineffective measures aimed at promoting the Russian language in Uzbekistan would be more effective if used for teaching the Russian language to Uzbeks in Russia.”
Previously, on October 31, Dmitry Medvedev addressed the issue of migrant children's education in schools during a meeting on state migration policy. “There is a situation that is often discussed regarding the social function — schools and other educational institutions. Children who do not know the Russian language enter these institutions. This affects the overall level of education. This is well-known, and it’s time to put an end to it,” — he said.
