Entrepreneur and former mayor of Tashkent, Jahongir Artykhodjaev, presented new projects during a meeting with the President of Uzbekistan on December 20 introduced new initiatives.

Artykhodjaev announced the construction of six new hotels under the brands Wyndham, Hyatt Place, Fairfield by Marriott, InterContinental, and ibis, which are set to open in Tashkent by the end of next year.

During the meeting, the entrepreneur also informed the president about plans to establish a clinic in partnership with a foreign collaborator. Meetings have been held with major medical centers in the United States, including the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

“All three clinics agreed [to cooperate]. We hoped to secure the agreement of at least one clinic, but all three have agreed to work in Uzbekistan to jointly build a clinic. There will be an exchange of experience and personnel. They also agreed to bring in professors to train instructors at universities. We plan to kick off the project soon,” noted the former mayor of Tashkent.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev endorsed the project, emphasizing the importance of creating conditions for providing medical care to citizens within the country.
