The Investigative Committee has opened a case regarding the murder of a woman from Uzbekistan in Saint Petersburg.

In the basement of a building in the Nevsky District of St. Petersburg, the body of a woman was discovered, as reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region on December 21.

In the basement of a building in the Nevsky District of St. Petersburg, the body of a woman was discovered, reported on December 21 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

“According to the investigation, a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan left the territory of the Russian Federation on December 10 and returned to his homeland, where he contacted law enforcement authorities to report that he committed the murder of his compatriot, who was his cohabitant, on December 9”, – the statement reads.

The man provided the exact address where he had hidden the body. During the inspection of the basement at that address, investigators found a buried suitcase containing the woman's body.

The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under the article "Murder." The police are conducting an inquiry to establish the precise causes of the woman's death.
