Uzbekistan has concluded bilateral negotiations with the United States regarding its accession to the World Trade Organization. This was reported by the special representative of the president for WTO matters, Azizbek Urunov.
“After 14 months of active negotiations, we have reached a logical conclusion! It was a challenging journey, with complex yet substantive discussions, providing a lifetime of experience,” Urunov stated on the social network LinkedIn.
The United States has become the 21st country with which Uzbekistan has finalized bilateral discussions on joining the organization. Currently, both parties are preparing to sign the market access protocol.
In September, Uzbekistan completed WTO accession negotiations with 18 countries. Protocols on the conclusion of market access negotiations were signed with Brazil and Sri Lanka.
