A girl suspected of human trafficking has been detained at Tashkent Airport.

At Tashkent International Airport, a 22-year-old resident of Akhangaran was detained on suspicion of attempting to send her 20-year-old acquaintance to Turkey for the purpose of prostitution.

According to law enforcement agencies, the detainee deceived the victim into believing that she could find a high-paying job abroad. However, the prompt actions of the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service of Akhangaran helped to thwart the crime.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Human Trafficking). The investigation is ongoing.
