In the Bukhara region, farms have been discovered engaging in the illegal extraction of gold particles from sand on irrigated land.
Officials from the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, conducted preliminary investigations.
It was established that the head of the farm "B-T." in the Shafirkan district transferred 0.6 hectares of irrigated land to citizen J.U. for the extraction of gold particles from sand without any permitting documents. This unlawful activity caused damage to the state and society amounting to 475.5 million sums.
In the same area, the manager of the farm "R.N." was also involved in illegal gold extraction on a 0.4-hectare irrigated plot, resulting in damages of 187.1 million sums.
Criminal cases have been initiated in connection with these incidents under Article 229-6 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (illegal sale or transfer of rights to irrigated land plots). Investigative actions are underway.
