The first DNA testing laboratory has opened in the Fergana Valley.

The only laboratory for forensic DNA analysis in the valley has commenced operations in Fergana. The new building of the Fergana branch of the Republican Center for Forensic Expertise was officially inaugurated, with representatives from the government, specialists, and community leaders in attendance.

The regional governor, Khayrullo Bozorov, noted that the establishment of the laboratory is a significant step towards ensuring justice and protecting citizens' rights in the region. The laboratory will greatly streamline the process of conducting examinations, allowing for quicker and more accurate resolutions of complex cases.

In recent months, the branch has received over 1,000 cases for examination, with approximately 7,780 studies conducted. Modern equipment has been purchased for the laboratory, including DNA analysis apparatus valued at around 600 thousand dollars.
