In the Fergana region, law enforcement officials thwarted the sale of counterfeit currency amounting to 998.7 million sums, reports UzA.
Three conspirators produced fake banknotes with denominations of 200,000, 100,000, and 20,000 sums using an inkjet printer. The perpetrators attempted to exchange them for $27,200 but were apprehended with the physical evidence at the time of the transaction.
An investigation has been initiated regarding this matter.
