A new university will be opened in Navoi.

On October 31, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree regarding the establishment of Navoi State University.

The university will be organized based on the Navoi State Pedagogical University. This institution will now prepare a broader range of professions, taking into account the development prospects of the region's industries and creating a continuous chain of education and retraining for scientific personnel.

All students currently enrolled in the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute will continue their studies at the new university, and students graduating in the 2024/2025 academic year will receive a diploma from the new university.

Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, the university will begin training specialists in the following in-demand fields:

• exact and natural sciences;
• information technologies;
• artificial intelligence;
• economics;
• business and tourism;
• investment management;
• agriculture;
• ecology and environmental protection;
• logistics.

Joint educational programs are expected to be launched in collaboration with leading higher education institutions from foreign countries and the republic, providing graduates with two diplomas. In certain groups of bachelor's and master's programs, the educational process will be conducted in foreign languages, and educational programs are being gradually prepared for international accreditation.
