In Tashkent, a man attacked a taxi driver, robbed him, and locked him in the trunk of the car, reports the Interior Ministry.
According to the agency, the man needed money and decided to call a taxi to commit the crime.
During the ride, he asked the driver to stop, then threatened him with a knife, demanded money, tied up the taxi driver, and locked him in the trunk before taking the wheel himself.
The assailant drove to a residential area, took the money, and bought drugs. The victim managed to escape from the trunk, and soon the criminal was apprehended.
He has been charged with several offenses, and in September 2024, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
