In the Surkhandarya region, an 18-year-old young man fatally stabbed his intoxicated relative, reports the press service of the Supreme Court.
The incident occurred in Termez. The young man lived with his sisters, aunt, and his sister's husband. One day, the brother-in-law came home drunk and started a quarrel. He attempted to strangle the young man, but the latter stabbed him multiple times with a knife. The man died at the scene.
During the trial, the defendant partially admitted his guilt and stated that the deceased had constantly pressured him and his family. The young man was found guilty under part 1 of Article 97 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Intentional Murder) and was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in a general regime correctional facility.
Previously, the Mirzo-Ulugbek District Court of Tashkent found a man guilty of murdering a 3-year-old child and sentenced him to 24 years in prison.
