According to data from the Uzbekistan Statistics Agency, 693,900 children were born in the country during the first nine months of 2024, which is 23,000 fewer compared to the same period in 2023.
Of the total number of newborns, 360,000 are boys, while 333,900 are girls. The highest number of births was recorded in the Samarkand region, where 83,141 children were born. In contrast, the Syrdarya region reported the lowest figure with only 16,690 newborns.
The regional statistics are as follows:

• Bukhara region — 64,866;
• Surkhandarya region — 62,928;
• Namangan region — 61,721;
• Tashkent region — 53,201;
• Khorezm region — 33,580;
• Karakalpakstan — 31,018;
• Jizzakh region — 29,422;
• Navoi region — 19,743.
Tashkent also ranked in the middle of the list, with 51,356 children born in the capital in 2024. On average, 2,570 children are born each day in the country.
