Uzbekistan will establish an International Institute of Kurash.

The president of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has issued a decree titled "On Measures for Advancing the Development and Popularization of the National Sport of Kurash."

According to the decree, the activities of the International Institute of Kurash aimed at the development and promotion of this national sport will be expanded, with the following tasks assigned to it:

• Training international coaches and referees in kurash, along with their retraining and professional development;
• Conducting research projects on kurash, as well as developing necessary educational-methodological and scientific-practical materials;
• Introducing new directions in kurash and measures for their popularization;
• Sending kurash coaches and referees to other countries;
• Systematic efforts to promote and develop kurash, as well as to transform this national sport into an international one.

Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions abroad have been tasked with supporting the activities of the International Kurash Association and the International Institute of Kurash in promoting and popularizing this sport on the international stage.

Additionally, efforts will be made to attract major local entrepreneurs as official sponsors of the International Kurash Association.
