Uzbekistan will implement a system aimed at boosting economic growth in its regions.

The president has adopted a decree (No. PF-223 dated December 20, 2024) titled "On Measures for Implementing a New System to Ensure High Economic Growth and Employment in Regions, as well as Strengthening the Role and Responsibility of Local Authorities in This Matter."

According to the decree, a system will be implemented aimed at increasing the accountability and responsibility of local authorities, as well as enhancing their initiative and role in carrying out reforms and changes.

In 2025, target indicators for economic growth, reduction of unemployment, and poverty levels in the republic and regions have been approved.

Local government authorities will gain the following opportunities:

▪️ Starting January 1, 2025, 50% of the revenue from property and land taxes of legal entities, rental of state assets, and personal income tax will be transferred to the local budgets of districts (cities).

▪️ 90% of the proceeds from the sale of shares owned by local government authorities will be equally distributed among the republican budget of Karakalpakstan, regional budgets, the city budget of Tashkent, and the budget of the district (city) where the asset is located.
