"There is a situation that is frequently discussed regarding social functions—specifically schools and other educational institutions. When children who effectively do not know the Russian language enter these places, it negatively impacts the overall level of education. This is well-known to everyone, and it is time to put an end to it," said Medvedev during a meeting on state migration policy issues.
Additionally, according to the politician, family members of migrants who are in Russia and are neither working nor studying should leave the country.
Medvedev cited data from the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion, indicating that 70% of the Russian population supports stricter migration policies.
"People are tired of the examples of disgraceful behavior from certain representatives of migrant groups. This must come to an end," he stated.
Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Alisher Kadyrov responded to these remarks on his Telegram channel.
"Such cruelty directed at children will shape attitudes towards the Russian language in the future," he wrote.
Kadyrov noted that ineffective measures aimed at promoting the Russian language in Uzbekistan would be more appropriately utilized for teaching the Russian language to Uzbeks in Russia.
