A group of seven invited Turkish specialists is focusing on key areas such as enhancing primary healthcare, implementing a medical insurance system, digitizing medicine, improving hospital efficiency, developing pharmaceuticals and ensuring drug availability, optimizing the use of medical equipment, and enhancing the emergency and ambulance services.
The group is led by Dr. Hasan Chagil, a graduate of Istanbul University and one of the architects of healthcare reform in Turkey. From 2003 to 2013, he oversaw the transformation of the Turkish healthcare system, which was brought out of a crisis and achieved a high level of performance. Since 2016, he has also been advising health ministries in various Asian and European countries. In Uzbekistan, Dr. Chagil is focused on developing a medical insurance system capable of modernizing local healthcare.
Other team members are recognized experts with substantial scientific and practical experience.
Currently, as part of the reform program, Turkish specialists are collaborating with representatives from the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan to study the operations of healthcare institutions across the country. Based on these studies, recommendations and roadmaps will be prepared for short-term, medium-term, and long-term reforms of the healthcare system.
The primary goal of the initiative is to create an accessible, modern, and effective healthcare service system for all residents of Uzbekistan.
It is worth noting that specialists from the Republican Center for Maternal and Child Health performed 10 complex surgeries in Karakalpakstan.
