Since the beginning of the year, the unemployment rate in Uzbekistan has decreased to 5.8%.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, the unemployment rate among the working population in Uzbekistan has decreased by 1% since the beginning of the year, now standing at 5.8%, reports a Podrobno.uz correspondent.
С начала года в Узбекистане уровень безработицы упал до 5,8%.

According to the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, today there are 876 thousand citizens in the republic who are in need of employment.

As of July 1, 2024, the population of our country reached 37.2 million people, of which 15 million 89 thousand individuals (41%) are economically active, meaning they are capable of working.

Among the working-age population, 14.21 million people (94%) are employed in various sectors of the economy. Of these, 6.8 million people (48%) work in the official sector, while 5.5 million people (38%) are in the informal sector. Additionally, 1.9 million Uzbeks (13.6%) are employed abroad.
