Utility workers in Uzbekistan will begin to proactively check electricity, water, and gas meters in advance.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, the verification of meters for electricity, natural gas, hot water, and drinking water consumption in Uzbekistan will be conducted at the initiative of the responsible organizations, eliminating the need for consumers to submit a request, as reported by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.
В Узбекистане работники коммунальных служб начнут заранее проверять счетчики электроэнергии, воды и газа.

According to the Ministry of Justice, this is outlined in a government decree aimed at improving the provision of public services.

As per the document, five types of public services will be transitioned to a proactive format – they will be provided by responsible state bodies and organizations without the need for an application. Additionally, six services will be offered in a composite format – one application from an individual or legal entity can result in the provision of two or more public services.

For instance, three months prior to the specified deadline for meter verification, employees of the authorized state bodies will collect the device for testing and return it to the consumer once the procedure is completed.

The following service packages will be provided in a composite format:

  • registration of rights to residential real estate, as well as registration of a permanent residence at this address;

  • registration with tax authorities of a rental agreement for housing or gratuitous use of housing and registration of temporary residence;

  • rental of state-owned real estate for a period of one year or more and registration of property rights;

  • purchasing real estate through E-auksion and registration of property rights;

  • obtaining a license for medical activities and permission to use an X-ray machine, receiving a conclusion on the suitability of containers for transporting hazardous goods, and a conclusion on compliance with sanitary standards for the means and conditions for transporting nuclear and radioactive materials and devices.

Passports for two types of public services have also been approved:

  • permission for the production and export of biologically active substances, food additives, polymer and plastic masses, and perfumery-cosmetic products (dietary supplements);

  • obtaining a certificate granting the right to temporarily or permanently export cultural values from Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that it was previously reported that complaints about the unsuitability of a home due to termite infestations or other insects can be submitted through EPIUG.
