The Navoi State University has been established.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute has been transformed into the Navoi State University. The institution will train specialists in the fields of economics, IT, tourism, and agriculture, reports a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.

The relevant decree was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on October 31, during his visit to the Navoi region.

One of the primary goals and directions of the new university's activities is to establish a continuous education system for the training, retraining, and professional development of scientific and academic personnel, equipped with modern knowledge and qualifications, taking into account the future development prospects of various sectors and industries in the region.

All students enrolled at the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute will continue their studies at the university. Starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, graduates will receive diplomas from Navoi State University.

Additionally, the 2025/2026 academic year at the university will kick off the training of specialists in fields such as information technology, artificial intelligence, economics, business and tourism, investment management, agriculture, ecology and environmental protection, and logistics.

In collaboration with leading higher education institutions from the republic and abroad, joint educational programs will be implemented in newly organized fields and specialties, granting graduates two diplomas.

According to the decree, a Transformation Center will be established at the university, which will be responsible for the following issues:

  • aligning the university's educational programs with international educational standards;

  • developing and organizing measures to include the university in the rankings of the most prestigious higher education institutions in the world;

  • international accreditation of the university's educational programs, as well as achieving recognition of the university's diplomas abroad;

  • establishing the operations of the registrar's office;

  • complete digitization of educational, research, and informational-library activities, as well as management processes within the university.

Furthermore, according to the document, by June 1, 2025, a mechanism for checking (anti-plagiarism) the final qualifying works and master's theses of students for the presence of borrowings will be introduced at the university.
