The significance of continuing productive contacts at all levels and thorough preparation for upcoming high-level events has been emphasized.
During the meeting between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and a delegation from the United Arab Emirates, which included Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Faris Al Mazrouei, issues regarding the further expansion of practical cooperation and the promotion of investment collaboration projects were discussed.
At the beginning of the conversation, Sultan Al Jaber conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of the Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Prime Minister of the country, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, the high level of multifaceted Uzbek-Emirati relations was noted with particular satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade is increasing, along with the number of joint ventures and the frequency of flights. The portfolio of implemented and prospective projects involving leading Emirati companies in Uzbekistan reaches 20 billion dollars.
The driving force behind bilateral cooperation is "green" energy. Today, a wind power station with a capacity of 500 megawatts was commissioned in the Navoi region – this project was implemented by Masdar.
In total, projects with this company have led to the commissioning of electricity generation facilities with a combined capacity of 1.5 gigawatts in our country over the past few years.
Special attention was given to the prompt preparation and implementation of major investment projects in the energy, oil and gas, and chemical industries, as well as in the extractive sector, water supply, waste processing, and other areas.
The importance of continuing productive contacts at all levels and thorough preparation for upcoming high-level events has been emphasized.
