The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan emphasized the significance of "BRICS Plus" meetings for broad dialogue and open discussions on relevant global development issues.

He expressed regret that the world is rapidly heading towards division, with an increasing number of wars and conflicts causing immense suffering, deep pain, and irreparable losses.

– The fragmentation of the global economy and trade exacerbates inequality, the technological gap, and protectionism. New barriers are arising between countries, – highlighted Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

In this context, BRICS, operating based on principles such as equality, non-alignment, consideration of each other's interests, respect for sovereignty, and the right to choose their own development path, acts as an authoritative and dynamic body for multilateral cooperation and partnership.

The leader of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that such a model of interaction could serve as a solid foundation for forming a new architecture of a more just world order while maintaining the central role of the UN.

He supported calls for achieving a global compromise through constructive dialogue free from geopolitical rivalry, national egoism, and ideological bias.

– We believe that the time has come for reforming global governance institutions and expanding responsible dialogue in "South-South" and "North-South" formats, – noted Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The leader of our country also highlighted Uzbekistan's intention to actively deepen partnership ties with BRICS nations and effectively utilize emerging new opportunities within this Union.

The head of state reaffirmed the commitment of BRICS countries to enhance cooperation aimed at addressing global inequality and inclusive economic recovery.

Interest was expressed in expanding practical cooperation in areas such as innovation, digital economy, "green" development, energy, and barrier-free electronic trade.

Uzbekistan also looks forward to participating in joint projects of the BRICS Research Group on artificial intelligence, connecting to the BRICS Competence Center being established at UNIDO, as well as the proposed Investment Platform.

The President of our country noted readiness for close collaboration with BRICS partners to enhance transport connectivity, create new transcontinental corridors, establish reliable logistics supply chains, and develop cabotage transport systems.

The importance of collaboration on ensuring food and energy security, overcoming the negative consequences of climate change, and health protection was emphasized.

Particular concern was expressed regarding the escalating conflict in the Middle East, which increasingly transforms into a potential focal point of a global crisis involving neighboring countries and major powers.

– We feel deep sorrow over the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and Lebanon. No political goals can justify the innocent casualties among the civilian population, especially children, – stated Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It was noted that the urgent tasks today are the immediate cessation of hostilities and providing emergency assistance to those affected.

– The only solution to the Israeli-Palestinian issue remains a peaceful resolution of the conflict based on the principle of "two states for two peoples," – emphasized the President.

Discussing the issue of Afghanistan, the head of state noted that the common task is not isolation but assistance to the Afghan people and the current authorities of that country in addressing urgent issues of socio-economic development, peacebuilding, and progress.

In conclusion of his speech, the leader of Uzbekistan reiterated our country's readiness for close and mutually beneficial cooperation with BRICS countries to achieve common sustainable development goals.
