Apple may introduce a smart doorbell featuring Face ID support. The device will be compatible with smart locks from other manufacturers that operate on the HomeKit protocol.

The main idea is to replace traditional methods of opening doors, such as keys, codes, or fingerprints, with a more modern and convenient facial recognition approach. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the doorbell is likely to be equipped with a Proxima chip developed by Apple, along with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules for wireless connectivity.

These plans complement rumors that Apple is working on creating a hub for smart home management and developing its own security cameras. However, the release of the new device is not expected for at least another year.
