Xiaomi has announced the launch of its new electric crossover YU7, as revealed by the company's CEO Lei Jun on his X platform account.

The model measures 4999 mm in length, 1996 mm in width, 1600 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3000 mm. The vehicle's curb weight is 2405 kg. The YU7 is the company's second electric vehicle, following the sports car Xiaomi SU7, which was unveiled in March.

The crossover is equipped with a front electric motor rated at 220 kW and a rear motor at 288 kW. The maximum speed is capped at 253 km/h. The electric crossover features an NMC traction battery from CATL, though its capacity has not been disclosed. Sales of the model are expected to begin in June-July 2025.

According to CarNewsChina, the starting price of the YU7 will be 250,000 yuan (approximately 3.5 million rubles). The model will compete with the Tesla Model Y, which is sold in China starting at 250,000 yuan.

At the end of November, Xiaomi also announced plans to release its second series electric vehicle in the first half of 2025 and reported on the construction of the second phase of its electric vehicle factory, aiming for an annual production of 300,000 vehicles.
